Two Israelis were evacuated from the scene of the incident, and shortly thereafter, one of them was pronounced dead. Immediately upon receiving information about the incident, IDF forces, Shin Bet, Ariel police officers from the Samaria district, forensic investigators, and traffic accident investigators from the Judea and Samaria district began collecting initial findings and investigating the circumstances of the case. Shortly thereafter, due to various findings that increased suspicion that this was not a traffic accident, the investigation was transferred to the responsibility of the Shin Bet and investigators from the Central Unit in the Judea and Samaria district. In his interrogation, the suspect confessed to what was attributed to him, the investigation is ongoing. The IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police share in the family’s sorrow.
