Joint statement from theand the Police Spokesperson: IDF and Border Police forces thwarted an attempt to smuggle 26 handguns on the eastern border. During the night (Wednesday), IDF forces from the Jordan Valley Brigade, fighters from the Matilan unit of the Judea and Samaria Border Police, and the Jordan Border Unit in the Judea and Samaria District, guided by observers, scanned near the eastern border fence. As part of the scans, the forces located a bag containing 26 handguns and ammunition magazines. The located handguns were transferred for further treatment to the Judea and Samaria District of the Israel Police. Security forces are deployed in the eastern border area with the aim of maintaining the security of the citizens of the State of Israel.
