Earlier today (Saturday), a Lebanese army vehicle struck an explosive device in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese soldier killed, two wounded by explosive device in southern Lebanon; Hezbollah suspected.

As a result, one Lebanese army soldier was killed and two others were wounded. Following an investigation, it appears that this was not an IDF explosive device, but rather an explosive device that was likely placed by the Hezbollah terrorist organization. The incident occurred in the Al-Mansouri area, within the security zone in southern Lebanon. IDF forces have not been present in this area at all recently. It should be noted that the Lebanese army vehicle entered the security zone without prior coordination with the IDF as required, in accordance with the existing coordination mechanism. The IDF calls on civilians and forces in the area to avoid reaching areas where Hezbollah continues to pose a threat, and to coordinate movements in advance as usual, for their safety.
