Three Israelis Rescued from Deep Inside Palestinian Authority Territory
Civil Administration forces rescued three Israelis who entered Palestinian Authority territory overnight in separate incidents in Ein Arik, Jericho.
Jerusalem, 24 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Civil Administration forces in Judea and Samaria rescued three Israelis in three different incidents in recent hours overnight Monday after they had entered the Palestinian Authority-controlled territory.
In the Palestinian village of Ein Arik in the Binyamin area, an armed Israeli reservist was spotted wearing civilian clothes, having mistakenly entered the village and found himself in a situation that could have quickly turned dangerous. IDF forces, in coordination with PA security, retrieved him unharmed.
An Israeli woman was spotted inside the city of Jericho in the Jordan Valley Brigade area, and, unlike the first case, an initial inquiry indicated that she had entered the Arab city intentionally. This incident as well ended without injuries. The young woman was escorted out of the city and handed over to Israeli authorities.
In Bethlehem, an Israeli man known to be mentally unstable was located walking the streets of the city. Arab residents in the area alerted the PA security authorities, and rapid coordination was carried out, as the man was handed over to Israeli security forces, unharmed.
All three cases were referred to the Judea and Samaria District Police for further investigation.
