Jerusalem, 30 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that 81.0% of Israelis feel safe in their residential area in general. The rate among men is higher than the rate among women (83.5% compared to 78.7%, respectively).

This is based on the findings from the 2025 Personal Security Survey.

The highest rate of residents who feel safe in their residential area (92.9%) is found in Bnei Brak, while the lowest rate is found in Netanya (75.7%).

Feeling of personal safety walking alone in a residential area after dark

The rate of men who feel safe walking alone in their residential area after dark is significantly higher than the rate among women (83.9% compared to 65.8%, respectively).

The highest rate is found in Bnei Brak (86.3%), while the lowest rate is in Be’er Sheva (63.8%).
