Jerusalem, 2 July, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli authorities arrested a Tajik national accused of spying for Iran, it was cleared for publication.
Behrooz Sobirgon a Tajik national, was arrested in June 2026 in a joint operation by the Israeel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Directorate of Security of the Defense Establishment (Malmab) in Israel’s Defense Ministry.
Investigators say Sobirgon had been in contact with an Iranian agent and carried out missions on Iran’s behalf since January 2026.
