Jerusalem, 25 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — US President Donald Trump on Monday called on Saudi Arabia and several other Arab countries to join the Abraham Accords — which have normalized relations between Israel and several Arab states — saying participation should be mandatory for the countries involved in negotiations with Iran.
“By copy of this TRUTH, I am asking my Representatives to begin, and successfully complete, the process of signing these Countries into the already Historic Abraham Accords,” Trump posted on Truth Social, adding that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan were specifically targeted, while other states are already members.
He added, “It should be mandatory that all of these countries, at a minimum, simultaneously sign onto the Abraham Accords,” noting that some states might have reasons not to participate, but most should be “ready, willing, and able” to join.
Of the states Trump referred to, only Turkey has diplomatic relations with Israel.
Trump also suggested that Iran itself could eventually be included in the framework, saying, “They would be honored, as soon as our Document is signed, to have the Islamic Republic of Iran as part of the Abraham Accords. Wow, now that would be something special!”
He said negotiations with Iran were “proceeding nicely,” warning that the United States would accept “a Great Deal for all or no deal at all,” and adding that failure would mean a return “back to the battlefront and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever before.”
Trump said he had spoken with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, and that they supported broader participation in the accords.
He praised the existing Abraham Accords, saying they had delivered a “financial, economic and social boom” for participating countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and Kazakhstan, even during periods of conflict.
He concluded by calling for immediate action, stating: “Therefore, I am mandatorily requesting that all Countries immediately sign the Abraham Accords, and that, if Iran signs its Agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition.” He added that “The Middle East would be united, powerful, and economically strong, like perhaps no other area anywhere in the world!”
The Abraham Accords were first brokered by the United States in 2020 and led to normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab and Muslim-majority states, including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, with later participation by Morocco, Sudan, and Kazakhstan.
