President of Israel Visits Holocaust Museum in Iasi Romania

Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog visited Iasi's Holocaust Museum, unveiling a plaque to commemorate victims and strengthen ties with Romania.

Jerusalem, 28 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — President of the State Yitzhak Herzog visited today, Sunday, the Holocaust Museum in the city of Iasi, as part of his state Visit to Romania.

During the tour of the museum, the President was presented with exhibits and items that commemorate the life of the Jewish community in the city, alongside documentation of the massacre and historical tragedy of the Iasi Pogrom during World War II.

At the end of the tour, the President of the State unveiled a memorial plaque as part of the commitment to commemorate the victims, to preserve the Jewish heritage in Romania, and to deepen the partnership between Israel and Romania in the fight against anti-Semitism, and in passing on the memory of the Holocaust to future generations.
