Jerusalem, 30 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Ministry of Defense said Thursday it has begun implementing Knesset legislation providing expanded financial support to bereaved families.
Thousands of widows, orphans and families of fallen soldiers will receive one-time grants and monthly supplements worth thousands of shekels under the new framework.
“Orphanhood does not end at the age of 30, it is a deep identity experience that accompanies a person throughout their life. The amendment to the law strengthens the moral alliance between the state and the orphans of the fallen,” said Aryeh Mualem, Deputy Director and Head of ministry’s Families, Commemoration and Heritage Division.
