Negev Man Indicted for Selling Stolen Vehicles and Stealing Them Again
Tarek Al-Abid, 31, from Kuseife, has been indicted for a scheme involving selling stolen vehicles and fraudulently reacquiring them.
Jerusalem, 19 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The State Attorney’s Office filed an indictment on Wednesday against Tarek Al-Abid, 31, from Kuseife, a Bedouin town in Israel’s Southern District, for allegedly selling stolen vehicles while presenting them as legitimate, then stealing them back and transferring them to the Palestinian Authority.
According to the indictment, filed with the Beersheba District Court, Al-Abid allegedly obtained stolen vehicles, located identical vehicles offered for sale, fraudulently transferred ownership of the legitimate vehicles using forged documents and impersonation, altered the details of the stolen vehicles to match those of the legitimate vehicles, and sold them to third parties.
After completing the sale, Al-Abid allegedly arranged for the vehicles to be stolen and transferred to Palestinian Authority-controlled areas, with the aim of making additional financial gains and preventing the fraud from being uncovered.
