Israels General Security Service Joins Fight Against Violent Crime in Arab Communities
Israel's Shin Bet will now combat violent crime in Arab communities, receiving a NIS 500 million budget for the initiative.
Jerusalem, 6 July, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Government Secretary Yossi Fuchs announced Monday evening that the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service) is now joining the country’s ongoing fight against violent crime in Arab Communities and will receive a dedicated budget of half a billion Shekels ($167 million) for that purpose.
The Government is expected to approve the decision at the Government meeting next Sunday.
