These individuals demanded payments of millions of shekels from the victims. When they did not receive what they demanded, they enlisted the help of additional suspects, Palestinians from Nablus, and placed explosive devices at the victim’s home, threatening to harm them. As the investigation progressed, investigators from the Judea and Samaria District Special Investigations Unit (YAMAM) uncovered another case of extortion by threats in the village of Kana during February 2026. From the investigation of this case, it emerged that following a dispute over land ownership, the main suspect contacted the victim and threatened his life if he did not comply with his demands. Subsequently, he carried out his threat and, according to suspicion, placed an explosive device at his doorstep. About two weeks ago, following a covert investigation, detectives from YAMAM, fighters and undercover operatives from the tactical brigade of the Border Police, prison detectives, canine units, and IDF forces raided the homes of targets belonging to the Hariri crime organization and arrested 11 suspects, in addition to other arrests made as part of this investigation. The suspects involved in these incidents were arrested, as mentioned, by the forces in a large-scale operation in the cities of Umm al-Fahm, Kafr Qasim, Tayibe, and in the city of Nablus in Judea and Samaria. In addition, during their arrest, vehicles, some of which were used by them during the commission of these acts, a large amount of cash, and additional means were seized. These days, with the conclusion of the investigation in this affair, prosecution statements have been filed against five suspects, residents of Umm al-Fahm and Ma’ale Eron in their 20s, and against an additional minor. In the coming days, indictments are expected against these suspects for serious offenses.
