Police officers from the Binyamin station, Border Police fighters from Judea and Samaria, IDF forces, and traffic accident investigators from the Judea and Samaria district were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist, IDF soldier Sergeant Natanel Ayala, may he rest in peace, was critically injured and later pronounced dead. Immediately after the accident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. An inspection of the vehicle revealed that it was a vehicle that had been declared stolen from the Tel Aviv area several days prior. A preliminary investigation by traffic accident investigators at the scene indicated that, according to suspicion, the driver of the stolen vehicle exited the village of Luban a-Sharqiya towards the intersection, and as a result, the surprised motorcyclist swerved into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the private vehicle. Concurrently with the investigation into the circumstances of the accident, a manhunt was launched for the fleeing driver, during which various intelligence capabilities were employed. In the early morning hours, in an operation by police officers from the Binyamin station and the Duvdevan unit, he was arrested by them. The suspect, a resident of Luban a-Sharqiya in his 30s, was transferred for investigation at the Binyamin station.
