Border Police fighters in Judea and Samaria were attacked by suspects attempting to snatch weapons; two attackers sustained light injuries after live fire.
Border Police fighters who noticed what was happening and identified the vehicle approached it and tried to ascertain the identity of the occupants. At this stage, several suspects exited the vehicle and attacked the fighters with punches and chokeholds, while trying to snatch their weapons. During the attack, one of the fighters fired into the air, but even after that, the suspects did not cease attacking the fighters. Simultaneously, a fighter who identified one of the suspects choking another fighter and felt a real danger to his life and the lives of his friends, fired at the lower bodies of two of the suspects. Immediately after the incident, the fighter who fired provided initial medical treatment to the injured until medical teams arrived. It was later revealed that the two suspects who were injured are employed as security guards, but were not identified as such at the time of the incident. The two sustained light injuries, according to medical sources, and were evacuated for medical treatment. Additionally, several Border Police fighters sustained light injuries as a result of the attack. As is customary in cases of this type, the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
