During the incident, a public disturbance developed that included vandalism, placing rocks on traffic routes, and setting several fires. Police forces, including Border Police fighters, blocked the rioters and dispersed the disturbance using means. Following the incident, the Beit Shemesh station opened an investigation during which suspicion arose against three main involved parties who were marked for arrest. During an operational activity conducted overnight by detectives from the Beit Shemesh station and fighters from the Mat’pa unit, the forces raided the homes of the three suspects (Beit Shemesh, aged 26, 46, and 56) and arrested them for questioning. Commander of the Jerusalem District, Superintendent Absalom Peled: “We will not tolerate any harm to symbols of authority and to police officers acting to uphold the law and the public. We will not accept anarchy and will not allow damage to police facilities.”
