39 Illegal Residents Found in Bedouin Town, One Israeli Arrested

Israeli police in Rahat discovered 39 undocumented residents from Palestinian areas, arresting them and an Israeli homeowner suspected of aiding them.

Jerusalem, 12 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In the early morning hours on Tuesday, police raided a home in the Bedouin town of Rahat (located by Gaza) where they located within the house 39 illegal residents, who came from Palestinian areas across Judea and Samaria, and who lacked valid permits for staying in Israel.

The infiltrators, most of them residents of the Hebron area, were arrested and transferred for further investigation.

The homeowner, an Israeli citizen residing in Rahat, was arrested on suspicion of providing them with lodging in his home.
