Following the operation of three undercover officers – this morning 13 suspects in drug trafficking were arrested in the South and Central regions. Over the past three months, Ashkelon Police Station officers managed a dedicated task force to thwart drug trafficking by criminal elements, using all necessary means, including intelligence and technological gathering and analysis, deploying three undercover officers who posed as customers, and building an evidentiary foundation against the suspects. This morning, as the investigation moved from covert to overt and in accordance with its findings, Ashkelon Police Station officers, along with YAMAR Center officers and the Yoav Unit, raided the homes of suspects residing in the South and Center of the country, conducted searches for drugs, and arrested 13 suspects. During the search, various types of drugs in large quantities, magazines, vehicles, and cash were seized.
