Jerusalem, 9 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — In order to improve the quality of life of residents of Eilat and the Eilot region, and strengthen the region’s connectivity to the center of the country, the government approved the proposal to increase flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Ramon Airport, which serves the Eilat area, with the aim of ensuring “convenient, available connectivity at reasonable prices” for residents of the area.

As part of the decision formulated with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Airports Authority, a budget of 40 million Shekels ($12 million) was approved for the years 2026-2027 to launch a tender for increased flights on the Ben Gurion Airport-Ramon route. The goal is to increase the frequency of flights at required times, so that residents will enjoy more convenient access to the center of the country.
