Israeli Paratroopers Court-Martialed for Vandalizing Palestinian Vehicles

Israeli Paratroopers court-martialed for vandalizing Palestinian vehicles near Ramallah, violating IDF procedures and values. Commanders removed from combat.

Jerusalem, 30 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) acknowledged that last Saturday a force from its Paratroopers Brigade entered, in violation of procedures and without authorization, the village of Deir Dibwan near Ramallah. While there, the soldiers damaged Palestinian vehicles in a manner that the IDF said “were outside the procedures, orders, and what is expected from fighters and IDF servicemen.”

An investigation of the incident uncovered additional violations.

All of the soldiers involved in the incident were court martialed and punished. However, the IDF did not reveal the nature of the punishments.

The platoon commanders involved in the incident were tried by the commander of the Paratroopers Brigade on charges of assault, and a soldier from the Binyamin Brigade who initiated the vandalism was also tried by the commander of that brigade on charges of assault.

None of the combat commanders involved in the incident will be returned to command and combat positions in the IDF.

The initial investigation on the matter was presented to the IDF Chief of the General Staff, who determined that this is a “serious incident that contradicts the values of the IDF and the professionalism expected from IDF fighters.”

The Chief of Staff ordered a deeper investigation at the company and battalion levels. The conclusions of the investigation will be presented to the Chief of the General Staff in the coming days.

“IDF forces, in cooperation with the entire security system, operate in the sector for the security of all residents while ensuring the maintenance of law and order in the area,” it declared. “IDF fighters are expected to act in accordance with the accepted values and procedures, and every deviation is examined and addressed.”
