Mitzri was a senior figure in Hamas’s mechanisms in the Rafah Brigade, and was responsible for advancing activities aimed at harming the IDF’s freedom of operation in the Gaza Strip. During the war, Mitzri was in charge of security and intelligence gathering in the Rafah Brigade and was involved in attempts to rehabilitate and strengthen military security, with the aim of harming our forces. IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.
