Traffic Fatalities in Israel Down in March
Road safety improved in Israel during March 2026, with traffic fatalities and accidents significantly decreasing compared to 2025 and recent averages.
Jerusalem, 27 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In January-March 2026, 101 people were killed in traffic accidents in Israel. This was 18 fewer than the total killed during the corresponding period in 2025. in March 2026, the number of road accidents and the number of injured and killed were lower than in March 2025 and compared to the average for March in 2022-2024. This is according to the data released by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.
In March 2026, 27 people were killed in traffic accidents, 26 fewer than in March 2025 when the total was 53, and eight fewer than the average for March in the years 2022-2024, which was 35.
The total number of road accidents in March was 387, a decrease of 49.1% compared to March 2025, when the total was 761, and a decrease of 53.4% compared to the average for March in the years 2022-2024, which was 831.
The number of seriously injured was 137, a decrease of 53.9% compared to March 2025, when it was 297, and a decrease of 38.3% compared to the March average in 2022-2024, which was 222.
The total number of casualties was 672, a decrease of 50.0% compared to March 2025, when it was 1,344, and a decrease of 54.3% compared to the March average in 2022-2024, which was 1,470.
