Israeli prosecutors will indict five alleged Hariri crime organization members in the "The Prince" extortion case, following an undercover investigation.

Jerusalem, 1 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli prosecutors are set to file indictments on Thursday against five alleged members of the Hariri crime organization in a major extortion case known as “The Prince,” police said.

The charges follow an undercover investigation which targeted organized crime groups operating in northern Israel. In early December, hundreds of police officers, Border Guard personnel, and special forces raided dozens of locations linked to the Hariri and Abu Latif criminal organizations, arresting multiple suspects.

According to investigators, the five suspects repeatedly threatened a victim and his family while using false names, forcing him to pay tens of thousands of shekels in monthly protection payments. Additional arrests and indictments are expected as the investigation continues.
