Public transportation in Israel will expand to 60% of regular operations starting Friday, with bus lines increasing service.

Public transportation scope is expanding and will stand at 60% of regular operations

In light of the emergency situation and in accordance with the instructions of the Home Front Command and security officials, public transportation continues to operate in an emergency format and in accordance with security instructions.

Starting tomorrow (Friday), the scope of operations on bus lines will be expanded and will stand at 60% of regular operations, compared to approximately 45% that operated in recent days, in accordance with the situation assessment and the instructions of the Home Front Command.

Israel Railways operates from concentrated centers adapted to the emergency situation. In accordance with the instructions of security officials, the light rail in Jerusalem operates in an emergency format, the light rail in Gush Dan and the Carmelit in Haifa are not operating until further notice. In addition, the “Al HaKav” service centers are closed throughout the country.

The Ministry of Transportation calls on the public to obey the instructions of the Home Front Command and to avoid non-essential travel.

The Ministry of Transportation recommends that the public update themselves before setting out. The most up-to-date information on line operations and travel is available on public transportation apps and information websites, as well as at the service centers of public transportation operators.
