Netanyahu Tells Lebanese People in Open Message Israel Wants Peace, Hezbollah Wants War and Death
PM Netanyahu told the Lebanese people Israel wants peace, while Hezbollah, controlled by Iran, seeks war and death, holding their country hostage.
Jerusalem, 10 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued an open message to the Lebanese people Monday evening in which he declared, “Israel is not at war with you, We’re at war with Hezbollah.”
Netanyahu told the Lebanese that Hezbollah has taken their country “Hostage” and that it does “Iran’s bidding,” and uses their territory to launch terrorist attacks against Israel.
The Prime Minister also declared that Hezbollah is “weaker than ever,” that Israel is “stronger than ever,” and that Israel has “taken out nearly 10,000 Hezbollah terrorists so far,” and that it is, “systematically clearing out South Lebanon of these fanatics.”
“You also know we yearn for peace with you, with Lebanon,” he added. “A peace where our two peoples can invest together, build together, thrive together. The only impediment, the only obstacle to this beautiful vision is Hezbollah.”
Netanyahu also told the Lebanese people that while Hezbollah only wants “war, not peace,” and “death, not life,” Israel does want peace with them.
“Don’t let your future be dictated by medieval theocrats hellbent on destroying our common civilization,” he declared.
“Seize your future,” Netanyahu told them. “Join Israel. Build safety and prosperity for all of our children. And once Hezbollah is dismantled, the possibilities are endless. And they are sky high.”
