Israel Appoints Interim Elections Committee Chief as 2026 Deadline Nears

Jerusalem, 10 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Deputy President of the Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg announced Sunday that he has appointed Attorney Din Levena as acting director general of the Central Elections Committee for the 2026 elections. Levena served as the committee’s legal adviser until about three months ago.

By law, Israel must hold national elections by October 27, 2026.
