Jerusalem, 28 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Government of Israel approved Sunday morning a resolution proposal that recognizes recognize the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by Turkey.

“This shocking genocide, which occurred over 100 years ago and regarding which there is truly no dispute about the historical facts, included the murder of one and a half million people and the destruction of an ancient cultural and historical heritage,” said Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

Sa’ar said the recognition of the genocide is a “moral duty as Jews and certainly as the state of the Jewish people.”
