Israel MOD Hosts Strategic Meeting with Greek Prime Minister to Enhance Defense Cooperation
The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) led a high-level meeting between leading Israeli defense industries and a Greek delegation led by Prime Minister, Hon. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The meeting included presentations to the Greek delegation on existing and future cooperation between the countries. Representatives highlighted joint projects and discussed potential avenues for expanded collaboration, emphasizing technological innovation and capabilities.
This engagement further strengthens the robust defense partnership between the two countries, including cooperation in research and development. As part of this approach, Israel has demonstrated its commitment to investing in Greece's local industries, fostering long-term strategic benefits for both nations.
The IMOD was represented by Deputy Director of SIBAT, Shahar Horev, along with representatives from the Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D) and the Policy and Political-Military Bureau.
Senior executives from Israel's defense sector included the CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Boaz Levy; President & CEO of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Yoav Tourgeman; and EVP of Strategy and Business Development at Elbit Systems, Michael (Miki) Edelstein.
