Rocket Launcher Ready to Fire on Israel Destroyed Before It Could
The IDF neutralized a loaded rocket launcher in southern Lebanon's Qalaouiyah area, thwarting a direct threat to Israeli settlements and forces.
Jerusalem, 20 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) attacked a “loaded and ready-to-launch” rocket launcher overnight in the Qalaouiyah area in Southern Lebanon, north of Israel’s front line of defense, to prevent a what the IDF said was “direct threat” to Israel’s northern settlements.
“The loaded launcher posed an immediate threat to IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel, and was attacked in order to eliminate the threat,” said the IDF.
The IDF said it will “continue to take the necessary measures for self-defense against threats, while maintaining the security of the citizens of the State of Israel and the forces deployed in the area” and that it will “not allow any risk to Israeli citizens and its fighters and will take all necessary actions to ensure their security.”
