Hezbollah Fires Surface-To-Air Missile At Israeli Aircraft, Israel Responds With Strike

Hezbollah launched a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli aircraft Tuesday, leading to an IDF strike, while other aerial targets were intercepted.

Jerusalem, 12 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported a series of incidents involving Hezbollah activity in southern Lebanon on Tuesday. According to the IDF Spokesperson, a surface-to-air missile was launched at an Israeli Air Force aircraft during operations assisting ground forces, though no damage or casualties were reported. The Air Force responded by striking a suspect who fled the launch site on a motorcycle.

In a separate incident, Israeli Forces intercepted several unidentified aerial Targets in the same area.

Earlier in the day, Hezbollah launched explosive drones toward IDF positions, also causing no injuries or damage.
