Jerusalem, 7 July, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Security launched a nationwide campaign today to encourage families to join the foster care system in Israel, with the goal of recruiting additional families to open their homes and hearts to children who cannot grow up in their parents’ homes. The campaign will be published in all media outlets as part of the ministry’s efforts to expand the foster parent pool.

In Israel, there are many children who need a safe, stable, and inclusive family setting, sometimes for a short period of time and sometimes for years. Foster families provide them with the opportunity to grow in a nurturing family environment, while maintaining contact with their biological family, as much as is possible and appropriate for them.

The campaign, presented from the perspective of one girl, presents foster care as a human act with a huge impact not only for the children, but also for the families who choose to open their home.
