Jerusalem, 25 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Staff Sergeant (res.) Basil Sweid, 32, a Druze-Israeli from the northern Druze town of Peki’in, a driver in the 7th Armored Brigade’’s 75th Battalion, “Sa’ar Megolan” (storm from the Golan) Formation, was killed during an operational activity in southern Lebanon.
The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that, in the incident in which Sweid z”l fell, another soldier was wounded in moderate condition. The soldier was evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital, and his family was updated.
No information was given about how Sweid was killed.
