Jerusalem, 25 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In 2016, there were 4,871 principals in Israel’s entire education system, compared to 4,691 in 2015 (an increase of 3.8%).
In the years 2010/11-2015 (2010/11-2025/26), 1,447 principals were added to the entire system, 930 for elementary education and 486 for secondary education.
In the years 2020/21-2025/26 (2020/21-2025/26), the annual rate of change in the number of principals in the entire system was 2.0% on average per year, 1.9% in elementary education and secondary education (in each of them).
In 2016, there were 4,879 full management positions in the entire system, compared to 4,754 in 2015 (an increase of 2.6%).
In the years 2010/11-2015 (2025/26-2020/21), 930 full-time positions were added to the entire system. 896 full-time positions were added to elementary education, while 48 full-time positions were subtracted from secondary education.
