IMF Article IV consultation, 2026

The IMF Executive Board completed the 2026 Article IV Consultation for Israel on 24 June 2026. The IMF published the related press release on 1 July 2026. Israel.com reported that the staff mission was led by Kotaro Ishi.

Israel.com quoted the IMF as determining that elevated regional tensions have “tested Israel’s economic resilience,” that ongoing hostilities mean Israel’s defense expenditure is expected to remain high, and that labor supply will be constrained by mobilization of military reservists and reduced availability of non-Israeli workers.

Israel.com also quoted the IMF: “These pressures would compound longstanding structural challenges—such as persistently low labor-market participation among certain groups—and weigh on Israel’s medium-term economic outlook.”
