The Chief of Staff expressed his appreciation to the family for the years-long struggle to bring Yehuda back, and said: “Today a circle has been closed, after 44 years, the Battle of Sultan Yaqub has ended. All missing soldiers from the battle have been returned to Israel. This is a special day for me, both as Chief of Staff and as a tank officer. From the day I enlisted in the Armored Corps, I grew up on the legacy of that battle and on the ethical commitment to bring all our missing soldiers home. The entire nation is united and moved with you today.” The family thanked the Chief of Staff for his words and for the effort to bring Yehuda, may he rest in peace, home, to a Jewish burial, and added that his funeral will unite the entire nation and will be held in accordance with his special character.
