Israel Sees 30% Increase in Rate of Solar Power Additions

Israel experienced a 30% increase in solar power installations in 2025, reaching record numbers and marking a significant step towards its 2030 renewable energy.

Jerusalem, 2 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — One year after the launch of the “One Hundred Thousand Roofs” program, Israel saw a record in solar power installations in 2025. There was an increase of about 30% in installations, an all-time monthly record, and widespread nationwide expansion: 2025 marked a transition from a trend to a real wave on the way to the goal of installing 100,000 solar roofs by 2030.

Data from the Electricity Authority shows that during the year, about 8,400 new systems were installed, an increase of about 30% compared to 2024, in which about 6,500 systems were installed. This is also a significant jump compared to previous years, in which the growth rate was more moderate, and stood at only about 12% between 2023 and 2024.

The main turning point was recorded in the second half of the year: while in the first months the rate of new installations was maintained at a steady rate of about 600 roofs per month, starting in the summer months there was a sharp and continuous increase. The monthly average climbed to about 800 installations, a jump of about 30%, and in November a new record was broken with almost 1,000 solar roofs installed in one month.
