Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Minister of Defense issued a statement on social media slamming the President of Turkey Recep Erdoğan for what he said were “dangerous” actions in Syria.

“Erdogan is dragging Turkey into dangerous adventures in Syria,” said Katz. “Israel will not allow any entity to threaten its security.”

“It is preferable for Erdogan to continue delivering empty, delusional speeches against Israel in the Turkish parliament rather than testing Israel’s resolve to defend itself,” he added.

The comments came after the Turkish President condemned Israel’s recent attack on a Syrian air base located near the Turkish border, calling it a hostile act against Turkey.

Israel in turn claims that Turkey had plans to establish a military presence at the base.
