Throughout the war, unit members have taken a central part in the national effort to identify missing persons and fallen soldiers. President of Israel Isaac Herzog: “This unit is a hidden light of the State of Israel. The unit’s volunteers are wonderful people who, in the midst of their daily work, perform the most noble acts of kindness possible, and face challenges with resilience. You are exposed to evil and monstrosity in the most difficult places, and yet you have endured it with heroism.” Police Commissioner, Superintendent-General Danny Levy: “Since October 7th, the State of Israel has been facing one of the most difficult tests in its history. Within this national effort, you have been an integral part of a sacred mission: identifying the fallen, restoring certainty to families, and bringing the fallen to burial in Israel. When the most difficult moment of testing arrived, you were there.” Head of the Lahav 433, Major General Boaz Balat: “You are people who come from a pure, respectful place, with a deep understanding of the needs of the State of Israel. You put everything aside to be part of the great thing that is a national mission. I thank you for your contribution to this important activity.”
