Golan Heights Double Murder Solved, Indictments Filed Against Crime Syndicate Hit Squad
Israel Police have indicted three individuals in connection with the double homicide of Marwan Abu Shahin and Sa’ada Sa’ada in the Golan Heights.
Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Police announced the resolution of a double homicide in the Golan Heights community of Bu’qata, where Marwan Abu Shahin, 52, a local resident, and Sa’ada Sa’ada, 56, of Hurfeish, were shot dead two months ago. Northern District Commander Asst. Cmdr. Meir Eliyahu assigned the case to the district’s Central Crime Unit (Yamar).
Investigators found that a hit squad from a northern crime organization had pre-arranged the killing, renting a cabin in Bu’qata (a Druze town in the Northern Golan Heights) and arriving in two vehicles purchased in Isfiya (a Druze town in the Galilee).
Several suspects were arrested and vehicles seized, but the lead suspect fled. On July 5, Yamar detectives tracked him to Yarka (a Druze town in the Galilee), where he shot and severely wounded an employee before being arrested.
the Northern District Attorney’s Office filed indictments Wednesday against three defendants, aged 43, 28 and 19, and against the 19-year-old for attempted murder in Yarka.
