Early this morning, during routine activity on Route 60 in the Shimon HaTzadik area, Judea and Samaria District police officers noticed a vehicle committing a serious traffic violation by crossing a solid dividing line on the road.

Israel Police detained Israeli suspects after a vehicle fled into a Palestinian village, triggering a large-scale search operation.

The officers pursued the vehicle, which continued to flee and entered the Palestinian village of Hizma. The vehicle entered an alley, and due to the nature of the location, the officers called for IDF forces for searches. Shortly thereafter, a report was received from two civilians who claimed they were the ones who were in the area and they left the village. Due to the severity of the incident, emergency orders were activated and many forces were scrambled to the area, beginning searches to locate those involved and to rule out that any Israelis remained inside the village. The police opened an investigation and several Israeli suspects were detained. The Israel Police and all security bodies view any entry into Area A by Israeli civilians, with unnecessary risk to their lives, with great severity, and this incident will be investigated accordingly.
