During searches conducted in the area, an abandoned vehicle was located with a license plate suspected of being duplicated. A search of the vehicle revealed a Scorpion submachine gun and a hunting rifle. Further searches in the area located several plastic-wrapped boxes that raised suspicion of containing explosive devices. A police sapper who was called to the scene neutralized the suspicion of an explosive device, and upon examination of the boxes, it was discovered that they contained ammunition. In another operation during the past weekend, detectives from the Kfar Qassem station operated in an open area near the Hamis Stadium, between Kfar Qassem and Kafr Bara, to locate weapons hidden in the area. At the end of the search, a cache was found inside an abandoned truck containing five items of standard explosive material weighing a total of approximately 2.5 kg. The explosives were seized and transferred for forensic laboratory testing.
