Jerusalem, 3 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police stopped an attempt to perform an animal sacrifice at the Temple Mount and detained 21 suspects.
On last Friday, officers at the entrances to the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem operated as part of the preparations for Friday Muslim prayers there and maintaining public order. A that time a group of people the police called “rioters” arrived at one of the gates attempted to break through with the aim of bringing an animal into the Temple Mount area for a sacrifice, while disrupting public order.
The police prevented the suspects’ entry, blocked their path and arrested and detained 21 suspects for questioning.
