A cache of weapons, suspected to be intended for terrorist activity, was discovered hidden inside a water cistern in the village of Al-Jib, in the Jerusalem area. During the week, following intelligence information, Border Police fighters from the Jerusalem Envelope unit were dispatched to a water cistern in the village of Al-Jib, in the Binyamin Brigade area. It was suspected that a cache of illegal weapons was hidden at the bottom of the cistern. Upon the forces’ arrival at the scene, initial searches were conducted in an attempt to reach the bottom of the cistern, and the forces even dove in. However, due to its depth and the complex terrain, they were unable to reach the bottom. Consequently, the Israel Fire and Rescue Services were called in, along with a professional diver, who joined a complex operation that lasted several nights. During this operation, large quantities of water were pumped out of the cistern, and dives were conducted to the bottom. During the night, at the conclusion of the joint operation, several sealed bags were located and removed from the cistern. These bags contained a significant cache of weapons, including rifles, ammunition, mobile phones, explosive charges, and remote activation devices.
