Jerusalem, 14 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli biotechnology company RCK, operating from Kibbutz Ruhama in the western Negev, is introducing their new technology that enables more uniform and stable growth of medical cannabis, which, it says, has already led to a 17.5-fold increase in production and a 70% decrease in depreciation in the production processes.

This comes after the firm faced evictions of workers from their homes, extensive reservist recruitment, cancellation of international contracts, and even significant financial difficulties during the Iron Swords War. Now, after particularly difficult years.

RCK’s development could help the industry cope with the significant increase in demand for medical cannabis, while also improving the quality of agricultural produce. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the growing area in Israel covers only about 350 dunams, and is grown by 33 growers. At the same time, according to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of active medical cannabis licensees in Israel increased from about 84,800 patients in January 2021 to about 136,400 in January 2026, i.e., an increase of about 60% in five years.
