New Mental Health Center in Acre to Aid Both Military And Civilians Suffering from War

Jerusalem, 10 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — As part of a joint initiative by Mazor Hospital together with the government a new center in Acre for treating psychological trauma for war victims, “Shahar” Trauma Treatment Center, will operate an intensive program for combatants who need immediate intervention. The center will provide treatment to combatants, reservists, police officers and civilians injured in the war.

The “Shahar” Trauma Treatment Center was recently inaugurated by the Mazor Mental Health Center in Acre. The center provides treatment for victims of trauma in the context of the current ongoing war: combatants, reservists, police officers and civilians. The staff at the new center consists of first-class therapists, both male and female, who have been trained to treat trauma.

The center is part of the Mazor Mental Health Center’s trauma treatment system, which operates in additional centers across the country, and its opening was made possible thanks to a donation from the Jewish Federations of North America. The uniqueness of the new center is, among other things, the fact that it offers intensive day care for combatants who need immediate, comprehensive, and inclusive intervention. Trauma patients arrive at a designated location, tailored to their needs and the nature of the treatment.
