Israeli hotels receive NIS 160 million in grants for hosting Gaza, Lebanon border evacuees. Tourism Ministry supports hospitality sector.

Jerusalem, 16 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Tourism Ministry has begun distributing some NIS 160 million ($47.8 million) in renovation grants to about 400 hotels, guesthouses, hostels, and B&Bs that housed evacuees from the Gaza and Lebanon borders. Grants, calculated by the number of recognized overnight stays and accommodation level, average NIS 400,000 ($119,000) per site and reach up to NIS 2.7 million (810,000) for the largest facilities.

“As we pledged, the Ministry of Tourism is transferring a designated budget to hotels that have taken on a national mission and opened their doors to serve as a warm home for tens of thousands of evacuees,” said Tourism Minister Haim Katz.
