Jerusalem, 11 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli humanitarian NGO, IsraAID is sending an emergency response team to Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah, which killed at least 639 people and left more than 200 missing. The cyclone’s heavy rains, floods, and landslides on November 27 have displaced up to 100,000 people and damaged infrastructure nationwide.

IsraAID’s specialists will focus on urgent Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) and public health needs, distributing emergency water filters and training communities to reduce the risk of disease.

The mission comes amid further monsoon-season threats.
