Gil TanenbaumBreaking News

Jerusalem, 4 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — An Eritrean refugee living in Israel, who illegally entered the country and is a supporter of the current regime in that country, was deported on Monday from Israel. This is the first time an Eritrean infiltrator has been deported from Israel.

The Eritrean, whose identity was not revealed, infiltrated Israel in August 2011 and had lived there since.

In April 2025, he underwent a hearing by a border control officer after being arrested by the Israel Police while in possession of a sword (machete) and was even suspected of making threats within the family.

There have been disturbances in Israel among Eritrean refugees, between supporters and opponents of the regime.

It is the opponents who are considered refugees and entitled to remain in Israel because they would be in danger should they return to Eritrea.
