Breaking News

Jerusalem, 23 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — For the first time, the Eastern Galilee was connected to the national water system.

This after Israel’s Water Authority and the national water company Mekorot recently completed another phase in the national project “The Reverse Conductor,” the system for transporting excess desalinated water from the north of the country to the Sea of Galilee, and within the framework of which the Eastern Galilee region was connected to the national water system.

As part of the process, a new water line was laid to the Ein Ravid spring above the Tzalmon Stream. The line, with a diameter of 16 inches, will connect to the reverse carrier and provide water at a flow rate of approximately 1,000 cubic meters per hour. The water will be flowed from the line to the spring and from there to the Sea of Galilee, thus restoring the historic flow in the area for the first time in decades and strengthening the local ecosystem.
