Four and a half years in prison were imposed on a defendant in the “Russian” scam in Hadera, following an intensive investigation by the Central Unit in the Menashe region and a lengthy legal process conducted by the Prosecution Unit.

This is due to dozens of cases of fraud within what is known as the “Russian Scam.” The indictment shows that the defendant acted systematically and sophisticatedly, and committed over 30 fraud offenses against innocent citizens, exploiting their trust and misleading them in order to fraudulently obtain money from them. The investigation by the YAMAR (Special Operations Unit) revealed the extent of the defendant’s activity and gathered extensive evidence. The Prosecution Unit in the Northern District thoroughly and professionally accompanied the case, leading to the defendant’s conviction and a significant sentence reflecting the severity of the actions and the widespread harm to the public.
