1,158 Israeli Soldiers and Other Security Personnel Fell Since Start of October 7 Massacre
Jerusalem, 15 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that 1,158 Israeli security services personnel (soldiers, police and others) fell since the start of the October 7 massacre.
In the past two weeks alone, six more IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers were added to the number of the fallen, including two reservists, two soldiers in compulsory service in the regular army, one soldier in career military service and one kidnapped soldier confirmed killed who was brought for burial in Israel.
The state memorial ceremony will be held tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 11:00 AM in the Great Leaders of the Nation section at Israel’s Mount Herzl national military cemetery in Jerusalem. This section is reserved for the graves of Israel’s leaders such as Yitzhak Rabin and Yitzhak Shamir.
Employees of the Ministry’s Families, Commemoration and Heritage Division “have been working day and night for the past two years out of a deep mission and commitment to honor and respect the fallen and to accompany the bereaved families in their most difficult time,” said the Ministry.
“The department’s employees will continue to provide emotional and welfare support and accompany the bereaved families with a seeing eye, a hearing ear, and an understanding heart,” it added.
